What is music therapy?

“Music Therapy is an established psychological clinical intervention, delivered by HCPC registered music therapists to help people whose lives have been affected by injury, illness or disability through supporting their psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical, communicative and social needs.” (British Association for Music Therapy)

Music is connection and connection is healing. We will work with you, beyond any present diagnoses or disabilities, whilst holding them in awareness. We aim to resource you and strengthen your resilience when approaching life and the difficulties you might be facing. Music Therapy might benefit you or someone close to you if any of the following difficulties or disabilities are present:

  • Neurodivergencies such as autism spectrum disorder or ADHD

  • Mental health distress such as anxiety, depression, a sense of feeling lost, and lonely, self-esteem issues, and a general sense of overwhelm

  • Trauma

  • Grief and bereavement

  • Terminal illness

  • Coping with a physical disability, chronic illness or impairment

  • Learning disabilities including PMLD

  • Family and relationship conflict

  • Big transitions or uncertain life circumstances

  • Dementia
